To start the festivities, we will be going out to the store! YIKES! Hahaha… We have to get our Christmas cereal and wrap up a few loose ends with Christmas presents… Yeah I know… should have been done a long time ago… Whatever. At least the Christmas Cereal is a tradition that we do every year. (Note: If in Medford, there is really only one store to by cereal past noon on Christmas Eve and it’s out in White City…)
Then we are headed over to the Readings house for a Christmas Eve dinner, phone call to the little brother on a mish in Japan (Jordan), and a little bit of gift exchanging amongst the siblings and families.
After the festivities there we are planning on heading over to the Hospital for a visit to the niece. She is doing much better now that she isn’t on morphine for the pain of her surgery. Apparently kids with OMS like Baylee are supposed to stay away from narcotics. Well now we know why.
She has been a bear since she got out of surgery. She is NOT a big fan of IVs since it takes at least 45 minutes to get one in her. They have a hard time finding a vein to support the IV. Imagine the little girl poked and prodded until they get something… L Anyway, they couldn’t get one of her IVs back in for the morphine and so they took a break and were going to try again. After 30 min of no morphine she was back to the happy go lucky, smiling Baylee that she was a week ago (still shaking like crazy, but at least she is smiling again!) So they weaned her off of it, and now they are working on getting solids down. Once they stay down she can come home for a brief period, then they start chemo treatments to kill off the rest of the cancerous tumor. She also has to start treatments for the OMS and then worry about the rest.
Baylee didn't like Santa this year. I bet this is about what she has looked like when Nurses come in her room. She isn't a fan!
Christmas day is opening presents, talking to good ol Colton on the phone who is still in Denver on his mish! That’s at 9! I’m way excited for that! Then some breakfast and maybe another meal or two... (this is Preston we are talking about too!) and such and back to the Readings to hang out and do whatever… So we will just have a LOT of driving to do… Guess I should fill up the car so we can at least save some money on all the gas! Is it supposed to snow? Maybe not Darby then… hahaha
This was a picture we took cause Preston thought I looked nice that day.
Yeehaw! My work party was a Hoedown this year... I convinced Pres to dress up with me. You can't see my rockin pink boots HD gave me a few years back...
